Scheduling Recurring Visits in HomeWatcher

Home watch is recurring by nature. A snowbird's house might need a set number of visits spread across a whole season, and booking each one by hand is tedious and error-prone. HomeWatcher's scheduling lets you define the cadence once for a property, and the app generates the individual visits for you. This guide covers creating a recurring schedule, generating its visits, and editing the schedule when plans change.

A schedule ties one property to a recurring set of visits over a date range. You choose the property, a checklist template, the start and end dates, and how many visits to run. The app then spreads those visits evenly across the range, or places them on the specific dates you supply, and creates one upcoming visit per date. You can also attach optional concierge add-on services that ride along with every visit it generates.

How to create a recurring schedule

1. Open the Schedules section and choose New schedule to open the create form.
2. Select the property and a checklist template. Both are required so every generated visit knows where it is going and what to check.
3. Set the start date and end date, then enter the number of visits you want across that range. Dates cannot be in the past.
4. (Optional) Add concierge items by picking a template and an optional fee override. These attach to every visit the schedule creates.
5. Save the schedule.

How visits get generated

When you save, HomeWatcher generates one visit for each computed date and marks it as upcoming. If you entered a number of visits, they spread evenly across your date range; if you supplied specific dates, those are honored exactly. Any concierge services you added are created on each visit at the same time, so your add-on work stays in sync with the schedule. From that point on, each visit is ready for your team to carry out in the field.

Tracking progress

Back on the Schedules list, every row shows its progress as completed versus total visits, along with a status. Use the search box and the client and area filters to narrow a long list down to exactly the schedules you want to review. You can also download a printable PDF of your schedules, which respects whatever filters you have applied, for a quick roster you can share or keep on file.

How to edit a schedule

Plans change, and you can adjust a schedule after it is created. Open Edit on the schedule to:

• Move the dates of visits that have not happened yet.
• Add extra dates to extend or fill in the cadence.
• Remove a visit that is no longer needed.

Visits that are already completed or archived are locked and left untouched, so your finished history is always preserved. After you save, HomeWatcher shows you a quick summary of how many visits it updated, created, and skipped.
